– Part of a series of four drawings that I made using four different backgrounds and characters that I had drawn in previous projects and at the same time, tried to develop a narrative that the audience could construct

– tried to bring about memories of people’s favorite movies through the use of cinematic characters and conjure those feelings of familiarity

– Repeated images of James Dean with no eyes symbolizing the emptiness within, the difficulty of reading celebrities as people, celebrities as public people, a built-up image for the public to consume

– inspired by Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe paintings and Jean Baudrillard’s idea of the simulacrum
